Son arrested for throwing 88-year-old mother into front yard along with her chair

KANNUR: Police have arrested the son who threw his old mother, along with the chair she was sitting in, into the front yard. Kannur Town Inspector PA Binumohan and his team arrested Therandi Sajeev (58) of Laksham Veedu Colony, Palliyamoola. The mother, V Shantha (88), who was brutally assaulted by her son, is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kannur with serious injuries.

The incident took place at Palliyamoola around 11 pm on Wednesday. Shantha, who was sitting on the verandah of the house, was thrown into the yard by her drunken son. The elderly woman fell and was seriously injured. It is said that Sajeevan regularly comes home drunk and creates a ruckus. Police said that Sajeevan was provoked when his mother asked him about not paying his expenses at home.
