Temporary employee held for attacking RPF official in railway station

KANNUR: An official of the railway protection force (RPF) was subjected to brutal attack at the Kannur railway station. The official identified as Saseendran was brutally attacked by Dhanesh of Mambaram and a temporary employee of the railways. Waking him up from his sleep led to the attack.


Police said the official was assaulted while he was on duty. ‘The accused was sleeping in front of the women's waiting room. His bag and phone were lying some distance away. The RPF officer asked him to take them away as they could be lost, and he was assaulted without any provocation. The accused tore his uniform and damaged his body camera.

He bit his body and injured him. After seeking treatment in the hospital, Saseendran went to the station and gave his statement. An FIR has been registered in the incident.’ The accused has been taken into custody, said the police. The accused was drunk. His arrest will be recorded soon.
