Speaking to the media, Anoos said he has shared all relevant details with the police but was directed not to disclose information publicly.
“They did not harm me. I don't know any of them. There were six people, and they were not using phones. They let me go at Kondotty. The taxi driver was not involved and knew nothing about the incident,” Anoos clarified.
The abduction took place on May 17 around 4 PM, when a group armed with weapons arrived in a vehicle and forcibly took Anoos from his home. He was found at the Kondotty bus stand on Thursday morning. The gang had reportedly transferred him to a different vehicle soon after the abduction.
Following the incident, police issued a lookout notice for the suspects and also released the registration number of the car used in the crime. Authorities have urged the public to report any information related to the suspects to the Koduvally police station.
Investigators received a tip-off indicating Anoos was in the Malappuram district. Acting on this lead, police intensified their search operations in the region. It was during an intensified search operation focused in Malappuram that Anoos was left behind by the abductors. The suspects are still at large.
Anoos's mother, Jameela, revealed that the abductors initially targeted his father but turned their attention to Anoos when their first attempt failed. Police suspect the abduction was linked to a financial dispute involving hawala transactions. Preliminary findings suggest that Anoos's brother owes money to three individuals, including Rs 35 lakh to one of them.
