Thrissur food poisoning victim's death turns out to be a murder, son arrested; laced poison in curry

THRISSUR: 57-year-old Saseendran who died of food posioning on Sunday was allegedly killed by his son Mayoornathan (25), an Ayurveda doctor. The accused poisoned the curry made in their home. As per reports, the grudge against his father and step-mother is the reason for the murder.

Those who ate idli and curry from their home on Sunday showed uneasiness. Saseendran who went to an ATM after consuming the food felt unconscious and vomited blood. He was rushed to the hospital, but he died later. Saseendran's wife and mother and two other workers who had food were admitted to the hospital in a critical condition.

The relatives had said that they did not want an autopsy. But in the meantime, suspicions arose when the other four showed symptoms similar to those shown by Saseendran. They had stated that they had eaten idli and curry from home. But Saseendran's son didn’t consume the food which raised suspicions. Then, the medical college police arrested the son. It is reported that the son bought the poison online and mixed it in the curry.
