Toddy bar manager and male friend arrested for serving toddy to minor girl

THRISSUR: The license of a toddy bar was cancelled for providing toddy to a 15-year-old girl. The license of Vadanapally Tampankadavu toddy bar has been revoked. The shop is owned by Ravindran, a resident of Paravur.

The 15-year-old girl, who visited the shop with her male friend was found drunk on July 2nd. Later, she was arrested during a police inspection at Snehatheeram beach. Following this, the shop manager and the girl’s friend were summoned by the police on July 3rd and taken into custody.

Subrahmani, a native of Nandikara and Binoj, the manager of the toddy bar were arrested. Both have been remanded. The excise license was cancelled based on the report provided by the police. Excise authorities have also asked for an explanation to justify not cancelling the licenses of six other shops owned by the same group.
