Woman brutally thrashed in Kollam, neighbor arrested 

KOLLAM: A man has been arrested for brutally thrashing an old woman. The incident happened at Gandhi Mukku, Kottarakkara in Kollam the other day. A retired teacher identified as Sarasamma was subjected to brutal beating by her neighbor identified as Shashidharan (70). He has been arrested.

Sarasamma tried to beat him when he barged into her house. He then grabbed the stick from her hand, thrashed her brutally and then dragged her. Police said a dispute between the two led to the attack. The residents nearby said fights between the two are quite common. Sarasamma, who sustained injuries in the attack, sought treatment.
