Woman found murdered in Aluva, shows body to friends via video call

ALUVA: In a tragic incident, a woman was strangled to death by her male friend at a lodge in the capital city. The shocking incident happened at Thottungal Lodge in Aluva around midnight. The dead is Akhila (35) of Kundara in Kollam. The Aluva police have taken her friend Binu of Neriamangalam into custody.

After the murder, Binu showed Akhila's body to his friends via video call. The staff of the lodge said the two used to come and stay here at times. The youth came first yesterday and then the woman.

A fight broke out between the two when Akhila asked Binu to marry her. The brawl intensified and in a fit of rage, he strangled her using a shawl. He later informed his friends and they passed the information to the Aluva police. Binu was then arrested.
