Youth arrested with MDMA in Kannur

KANNUR: A native of Kozhikode was arrested with 230 grams of MDMA at Koottupuzha excise check post. Shikhil, a resident of Vengeri in Kozhikode was detained by the excise. The accused is the main link in the gang that smuggles MDMA from Bengaluru to Kerala. He also supplies drugs to youths in Kozhikode, Kannur and Malappuram.

Drugs worth more than Rs 7 lakhs have been taken into custody from him. An investigation has been started for the rest of his gang.

Preventive Officer P Yesudas, grade preventive officers Sreekumar, Sujith, civil excise officer Femin and female civil excise officer Shabna participated in the team led by Koottupuzha check post excise inspector Mohammad Shafiq.
