Youth held for attempt to rape lab employee in Kozhikode

KOZHIKODE: A youth was held for attempting to rape a lab employee in Kozhikode. The incident happened Monday early morning at Ulliyeri in Kozhikode. Muhammed Jasin of Parappanangadi has been arrested in the incident. He is a hotel employee.

Jasin tried to sexually abuse her when she came to open the lab. He escaped from there when she screamed, but was caught from Kunnamangalam. The police have got the CCTV visuals of him trying to attack the employee and then fleeing from the spot.

Jasin came near her when she opened the lab and entered inside. After talking to her, he pretended to be on the phone and went out of the lab to make sure that no one was nearby. He then entered the lab again and attacked her. He retreated when she resisted. The CCTV footage shows him withdrawing and running out of the lab. The accused was arrested after an investigation was conducted on the CCTV footage. The lab employee sought treatment at the hospital following the attack.
