Youth stabs bar employee to death in Thrissur for denying more ‘touchings’

THRISSUR: A bar employee was stabbed to death by a customer who became enraged after being denied more ‘touchings’ along with the liquor. The incident happened outside May Fair bar in Puthukkad. The dead is Hemachandran (64), the bar employee and a native of Erumapetty. The accused, Sijo John (40) of Alagappa Nagar has been arrested. The incident happened Sunday night at around 11.30 pm.


Sijo works as a security guard in Kochi. A verbal dispute broke out when Sijo demanded more touchings and this led to an uproar in the bar. The accused, who left the bar went to Thrissur and returned with a knife. He attacked Hemachandran when the latter went out to have food at around 11.30 pm. Sijo was drunk when he reached this bar.
