Youth uses pepper spray to escape after caught for misbehaving with girl

KOTTAYAM: A youth caught by the locals for hurling abuses at a girl, who was walking with her parents, used pepper spray to escape. The incident happened in front of the Municipal Arcade in Changanassery city center at around 9 pm last night.

A few shopkeepers and auto drivers at the central junction caught the accused after he hurled abuses at the girl. Meanwhile, he used pepper spray to escape. Job Maichil MLA, who was passing by at that time, informed the police after knowing the matter. However, the police came late. The MLA scolded the police, who came in two jeeps, for not reaching on time. The youth was later handed over to the police.
