KOCHI: SFI area president Devaraj has reacted to the incident of ganja being found in the boys' hostel of Kalamassery College. The cannabis is being brought to the hostel by two KSU leaders. The police are not trying to reveal their names or find them who have gone into hiding. Devaraj also said that an innocent SFI activist is being dragged into the case.
His words
Two kilos of ganja were found in the room of Akash and Adil on the ground floor of the hostel. Adil fled from the hostel after knowing about the raid. He is one who contested as secretary of the KSU Arts Club in the last union elections. The police have arrested one Akash. Akash has given a statement to the police that Adil and another student, Anandhu, are bringing cannabis to the hostel. Anandhu is an active worker of KSU.
None of the seven students who are part of the SFI union or unit committee members on this campus use intoxicants. No ganja was found in the hands or clothes of Abhiraj, who is now levelling allegations. Abhiraj was not even in the hostel yesterday. He was on the campus for decoration work for the unit meet. Abhiraj came with others after knowing about the raid.
The police registered a case in Abhiraj's name even though he said that it was not his. The SFI activists in Kalamassery constantly fight and work against the use of drugs. However, the names of KSU leaders Adil or Anandhu have not come out yet. Even the media is not saying that. They may have left the state. The police are not even investigating their whereabouts.
