THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that it was a blessing to be able to visit the holy land of Padmanabhaswamy. He also said that he is grateful to Kerala and Thiruvananthapuram. The Prime Minister added that today is the day when a new direction has come for development for Kerala. He was speaking after flagging off the Amrit Bharat and passenger trains. The Prime Minister spoke about each project after addressing as friends.

‘The efforts being made by the central government for the development of Kerala have taken a new direction today. The first step towards making Thiruvananthapuram a major startup hub in the country will be taken today. A developed India can be completed only with a developed Kerala. The central government will be with the people of Kerala. A great initiative for the upliftment of the poor of the entire country has also begun in Thiruvananthapuram.

The change of Kerala will start from Thiruvananthapuram. The victory of the BJP in Thiruvananthapuram is legendary. This victory is not only reverberating in Kerala but also throughout the country. This is a victory to make the dream of a developed Kerala a reality. Kerala will be freed from the corrupt rule of the Left and Right parties.

Special schemes have been implemented to reduce the electricity bill of the poor. Income tax exemption has been given to an annual income of about 12 lakhs. This has benefited the middle class and salaried workers of Kerala. Earlier, the situation of street vendors was very difficult. They had to pay a high interest rate for a loan of even Rs 100.

PM Swa Nidhi is a solution to this. Lakhs of street vendors started getting loans through this scheme. Today, the Government of India has also issued PM Swa Nidhi credit cards. 6,000 people from Thiruvananthapuram alone have received this benefit. Only the rich had credit cards. Today, street vendors also have Swa Nidhi credit cards,' said Modi.
