Woman, son found dead in well, suicide note recovered

MALAPPURAM: More information has emerged in the incident of finding a mother and her son dead in the well of their own house in Tirur. The dead are Irfana (30) of Ezhoor and her two-year-old son Aman Malik. Reports say the woman jumped into the well with her son. Her husband Rafi from Kozhikode is abroad. The incident happened when Irfana’s father had gone to the mosque. The police have recovered her suicide note.

Irfana’s mother had died four months ago. Police said the woman was suffering from severe mental distress over the incident. Tirur police have started an investigation. The bodies are kept in the mortuary of Tirur District Hospital. They will be handed over to the relatives after postmortem.
