THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former minister V Surendran Pillai has left the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). Pillai while talking to the media said that more RJD leaders are likely to resign and that he has not yet decided whether he will contest elections. He stated that internal differences had been brewing in the party for the past two weeks, mainly over denial of seats. RJD’s decision was to leave LDF. The majority opinion at the state committee meeting was to leave the LDF. Pillai said RJD announced candidates for three seats without accepting them.

He said a decision on contesting will be taken later. He mentioned having strong personal connections in Thiruvananthapuram, but not with the Left Front. There will be a convention of those who have left the party. Cannot promise that I will be in the race. I will think about it and decide. I am closer to Thiruvananthapuram Central constituency. I have served as an MLA and a minister in this constituency, said Surendran Pillai.
