KOCHI: Ernakulam DCC president Mohammed Shiyas stepped forward slamming actor Vinayakan for insulting singer K J Yesudas and director Adoor Gopalakrishnan. He said the government should control the actor and treat him. Shiyas made the demand at the press meet of the walkathon to be held tomorrow against the spread of drugs.
Vinayakan in his Facebook post responded to Adoor's controversial remarks against women and the Dalit community at the film conclave. Vinayakan later withdrew the post. Shiyas responded after this.
Shiyas said the government should control the actor and treat Vinayakan, he is a public nuisance and that he is becoming an insult to artists. He clarified that if the government does not take action, the public will handle the actor on the streets. Rapper Vedan had admitted his mistake when he was involved in a drug case. Shiyas said there are people in the film industry who admit such mistakes.
Congress leader N S Nusur had filed a complaint with the DGP against Vinayakan, citing his habit of targeting and insulting prominent personalities. The complaint has demanded that strong action be taken after assessing the actor's mental state.
