‘I’ve never hit even a cycle in all my driving, bike came and hit my vehicle’

KANNUR: Actor Maniyan Pilla Raju reacted after the results of the blood tests came out in the incident where youths were injured when the car, he was driving collided with their bike. The results confirmed that the actor was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

The actor said, 'I am extremely relieved. I have been going through a very difficult time. I have never hit even a cycle in all my driving. I drive very slowly. When I travel long distances, a driver drives the vehicle. When I am in Thiruvananthapuram, I drive to go to the temple or to a small event. When I was coming out of the Trivandrum Club, I looked both sides and then drove my car. The bike came and hit my car. It became big news. I immediately stopped the vehicle and called an ambulance. I did not know how people would react if I get out. That's why I sat in the car itself and that was a mistake from my part. It was a good investigation. I was found not guilty and released. The case is going on. I spoke to the youths. I am happy that the misunderstanding has been cleared,' said the actor.

The youths were injured when Maniyan Pilla Raju's car and a bike collided on the night of February 5. The accident occurred when the car was coming out of the Trivandrum Club. The actor's blood samples were sent for testing the next day after the accident. The actor not stopping his vehicle after the accident sparked a controversy. The actor appeared at the Museum Police Station the next day. Again, 12 hours later, the blood samples were sent for testing.
