‘Mamootty spoke in a threatening tone, superstars try to silence women’s complaints

KOCHI: Producer Sandra Thomas said superstars of the Malayalam film industry are deliberately trying to silence complaints of abuse against women. While talking to a media, she said that she had briefed her issues to Mohanlal and Mammootty. Sandra revealed that Mammootty spoke to her in a threatening tone.

‘When all these issues happened, biggest superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty, had called me. I had briefed my issues to them. I did not mix water in it. They called me when I was mentally distressed. Mammootty spoke in a threatening tone at that time and it made me very sad.

It is their stand not to respond to any issue against women. I cannot do anything in it. Superstars try to dissuade women from responding. We are no one to question it. Even after the Hema Committee report was released, the attacks and casting couch have not ended. The method has changed. The old method does not exist now,’ she said.
