‘May our angel babies forgive us from heaven’; First victim responds to Rahul’s arrest 

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The first victim responded soon after Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil was arrested in the third rape case. In a Facebook post, she said God heard the cries that the world did not hear and that she was grateful.

'Dear God, thank you for giving us the courage to validate ourselves despite all the pain, judgement and betrayal we endured. You saw what was done in the dark. You heard the cries that never reached the world. You held us when our bodies were taken from us by force. May our angel babies forgive us from heaven. Especially for trusting the wrong person and choosing a man unworthy of being our child’s father. Let their souls rest in peace, free from violence, free from fear, free from the world that failed to protect us. Our little ones, if our tears reach heaven, let them tell you this...Your mother never forgot you, your existence mattered, your spirit matters.

Rahul Mamkootathil was arrested in the rape complaint Sunday morning. He was taken into custody from Palakkad, taken to Pathanamthitta AR camp and then his arrest was registered. In the new complaint, the woman said Rahul raped her brutally.

With the new complaint, there are three rape cases against the MLA. Her complaint said that he demanded a flat in Palakkad and exploited her financially. Rahul abused the woman in Thiruvalla. Rahul was taken into custody in a decisive move by the police in the morning. Rahul is being questioned at the AR camp. The questioning is being led by G Poonguzhali.
