‘No big difference in prize money, buy Pooja Bumper boldly'; clarifies FM

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Finance Minister K N Balagopal clarified the incident of reducing the price money of Pooja Bumper as part of the reformation of GST. ‘The state is facing a big loss in GST, but there is no big difference in the prize money of Pooja Bumper. Everyone can buy the lottery boldly,’ said the minister.

The third prize money of the Pooja Bumper lottery and the number of prizes of Rs 5000 have been reduced. The third prize has been reduced from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. The prize of Rs 5000 distributed to more than 10,000 people has been reduced to 8,100. A total of Rs 1.85 crore has been reduced in the prize money. However, the ticket price has not been changed. There is no change in the money for the first and second prize.
