
KOCHI: The Kerala High Court has taken action on the plea filed by K K Sajimon of Piravom, who claimed the prize money of Rs 20 crore of Christmas Bumper lottery. The court has also sent a notice to the lottery department asking not to disburse the prize money. Sajimon approached the court claiming that he won the prize for the ticket purchased by him. He said the ticket kept in his vehicle accidentally landed in the hands of an Andhra native.
Sajimon, a retired sub inspector, runs a travel agency. One from Visakhapatnam who went to Sabarimala in Sajimon's vehicle left behind a steel container with ghee prasadam. The lottery ticket he bought was placed inside the carry bag containing the ghee container. Later when he couriered the container to the native of Visakhapatnam, the ticket was accidentally under it. Sajimon said the container reached Visakhapatnam, but the ticket was lost from the courier company.
Meanwhile, a person approached the lottery department claiming of winning the prize. It is not clear who the person was. When the ticket went missing, Sajimon first approached the Piravom police. A plea was then filed in the high court. The court has asked the details of the person claiming the prize money be provided in a sealed envelope and a clear copy of both sides of the winning ticket be produced.
