THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leader K Muraleedharan has responded to the allegations against Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil. While talking to the media, Murali said Rahul need not resign his MLA post now and if a complaint is obtained, the party will handle it seriously. Other things can be decided later, he said.
'If a written complaint is obtained, the party will handle the matter seriously. No written complaint has been received yet. As long as there is no written complaint, it is not possible to make an MLA resign. There is no such decision before the party now. The AICC General Secretary had hinted that there is no need to make an MLA resign in the absence of a written complaint,' Muraleedharan said.
After allegations of sexual misconduct were levelled against Rahul Mamkootathil, many stepped forward against him to step down from his MLA post. The party is bigger.
