THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K Jayakumar stepped forward responding to the plea filed against his appointment as the president of the Travancore Devaswom Board. The plea said appointing a government employee as the board president is against rules. Reacting to it, Jayakumar said that there is no dual post and becoming the board president is not illegal.

‘The plea is against government's decision. The government will give an apt reply to it. Based on government order, I am serving as the Devaswom Board President. It is true that I continue as the director of the Institute of Management in Government (IMG), but I am not drawing any salary from the Devaswom Board. The government has told me that someone will be replaced in IMG as my post is temporary. I do not think there is anything illegal. The government has to answer that,' he said.

B Ashok IAS filed a plea against Jayakumar in the Thiruvananthapuram District Court. The plea said becoming the board president while serving as the director of the Institute of Management in Government (IMG) is illegal.
