KALADY: Sarath Lal, kin of Chitrapriya, an aviation student murdered at Mundangamattom in Malayattoor, stepped forward against the police investigation. He alleged that the individual depicted in the CCTV footage circulating is not Chitrapriya. The woman going on a bike with accused Alan, is actually not the victim. Many of the things stated by the police are all lies. The police had released the CCTV footage collected from the premises of Malayattoor Church the other day. However, Sarath Lal said the woman seen in the footage is not Chitrapriya. He also said that the postmortem report of Chitrapriya has not been received yet.

Meantime, Rural SP M Hemalatha had stated the other day that the investigation will not be settled to Alan, arrested in the murder of Chitrapriya and that they will investigate whether anyone else is involved in the murder. Alan is the only accused presently. The accused will be taken into custody for further interrogation. The police had informed that the accused will be taken to the spot to collect evidence.

The police believe that more information will be obtained when examined the mobile phones of Chitrapriya and Alan. The police had also informed that both the phones will be sent for scientific examination. The police are investigating about Alan's past life and friendships. The accused had said during interrogation that he committed the crime under the influence of alcohol. They are also investigating whether he had consumed drugs.

Police said Alan told them that he hit the woman on her head with a stone under the influence of alcohol. Chitrapriya was missing since last Saturday evening. In the meantime, the police had received CCTV footage of Chitrapriya going on a bike with Alan. These are the footages from 1.53 am on Sunday. The woman was pillion riding on Alan’s bike. There were two others on another bike with them.

After receiving her missing complaint, the police examined the CCTV footage and summoned Alan for questioning. Initially, he said that he had taken the girl on a bike and had dropped her in the area. The police then released him. Later, when Chitrapriya's body was found, Alan was summoned again. However, he gave contradictory statements. He confessed to the crime when questioned more.
