THRISSUR: V S Sunil Kumar clarified that ADGP M R Ajith Kumar's investigation report that there was no conspiracy or external interference in messing up Thrissur Pooram, cannot be accepted. Sunil Kumar was a left candidate from Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency.

‘It is not right to publicly respond without seeing the report officially. There is a conspiracy behind the messing up of Pooram. As far as I understand, the report does not necessarily follow what I understand. A report of no external interference cannot be accepted. Thrissur Pooram is a place where political attire is kept apart. People's Pooram should be held in that way. I wish that such incidents should not happen again. He is the one who was blamed for that incident. Pooram cannot be messed up by only a commissioner. Will respond in detail after getting the details of the report,’ he said.

ADGP M R Ajith Kumar submitted an inquiry report to the DGP yesterday that there was no external interference in messing up the Thrissur Pooram. The report, which states that there was no deliberate coup or conspiracy in messing up Pooram, also said that Ankit Ashok, who was the city police commissioner, failed in coordination. The report includes pictures. It is indicated that there is more in the report than the description of the events that took place on the night of Pooram.

The DGP will examine the ADGP's inquiry report today. The five-month investigation was completed yesterday.

ADGP MR Ajith Kumar submitted the report. The initial instruction was to submit the inquiry report within a week. However, the investigation report was submitted yesterday after many controversies.

The chief minister had said yesterday that he had extended a week's time for the inquiry into the messing up of Pooram and would get the report on the 24th. Within hours after this, Ajit Kumar handed over the report to the DGP.

There were criticisms that the government used the police to mess up Pooram to create a favorable situation for BJP candidate Suresh Gopi in Thrissur. Sunil Kumar had also expressed his anger against the police action. State Public Information Officer M S Santhosh was suspended yesterday when he replied that there was no investigation under the Freedom of Information Act as to whether there was any kind of investigation into messing up Thrissur Pooram.
