KOCHI: School principal Sister Helena Albin stepped forward responding to the hijab controversy of St Rita's School in Palluruthy. She said that if the girl follows the rules of the school and return, will teach her and that they respect the government and the education department. The girl’s father had earlier responded that she no longer wants to continue in this school. The school principal met the media soon after this.
The principal thanked the Kerala High Court for protecting the rights of this institution running with the aim of the good future of the children. She also thanked the lawyer for providing legal assistance. Also thanked the honourable education minister. Hibi Eden MP and MLA K Babu had come to resolve the issues. She thanked them for finding the time to come here.
The principal also thanked Shaun George for providing all the help needed by the school from the beginning. If she returns following the rules and regulations of the school, we are ready to provide education to that child with the same love that we gave her on the first day.
In addition to the curriculum, we teach the children the cultural values of India and Kerala. We talk to the children about humanity and its values and understand them. Many issues are before the court. So, not saying more. Let the law take its own course. We have always respected the court and the government and will continue to do so,' said Sister Helena Albin.
