Mysterious death of 19-year-old; Male friend in custody, CCTV visuals emerge

KOCHI: The police have taken a youth into custody in connection with the death of a 19-year-old girl, who went missing two days ago. He has been identified as Alan. The dead is Chitrapriya (19), daughter of Shaiju and Shini of Malayattoor Mundangamattom Thuruthiparambil. Chitrapriya was an aviation student in Bengaluru. The girl had been missing since last Saturday.

The police have got the CCTV footage of Chitrapriya going on a bike with a youth on Sunday night. The police will question more in the incident. The body was found at around 2.30 pm yesterday in a search conducted by the colleagues of her mother, who is working in a catering firm. There were injuries on her body. The body was found in a rubber plantation at Sebiyur Road at Manappattu in Malayattoor.


She was wearing jeans and a top. There were injuries on her hands and feet. The girl also had a deep wound on her head. The police have concluded that this was an injury caused by a stone or other weapon. It is suspected to be a murder. However, the cause of death will be clear only after the postmortem report is received. On Saturday night, Chitrapriya and Shini had reached Ayyappa Seva Sangham Deshavilakku near her house. They also attended the Thalapoli. Shini returned home at around 11 pm. Chitrapriya is believed to have gone with a male friend. The girl's mobile phone will be examined. Her father Shaiju is a temporary fire watcher in the forest department. Her brother is Abhijith.
