KOCHI: The trial court found the actress’ statement on the alleged threat by Dileep not credible. The actress said actor Dileep had threatened her to not reveal details about his alleged extramarital relationship with actress Kavya Madhavan to his former wife Manju Warrier. The court also pointed that there was no concrete evidence or witness statements for the allegation that Dileep had tried to expel the actress from the Malayalam film industry.
The actress statement was that she would act in two or three films a year. However, the prosecution could not prove that Dileep had denied her opportunity. She said that though she had gone on a European trip with Dileep, they did not speak to each other. However, this is also not reliable. The actress and Dileep were the leading actors in the program on the trip. They also performed songs from the films in which they acted together on stage. The actress said that they did not speak to each other during the rehearsal camp either. However, the statement that they did not speak to each other even in such camps cannot be believed.
The actress clarified that it was during this camp that Dileep had asked her to retract her statement to Manju regarding his affair with Kavya. Dileep said people opposing him will not be in the Malayalam cinema. However, no one else in the camp heard this. The actress did not share this with anyone else. Even after the incident, the actress continued her European trip very happily. Therefore, the court clarified in its verdict that her statement is not being taken into account.
