‘Will not stop making videos supporting Rahul Mamkootathil,’ says Rahul Easwar

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Social activist Rahul Easwar, arrested for defaming the woman on social media for filing a complaint against Rahul Mamkootathil MLA, was brought to his house in Powdikonam. He was brought home to take his laptop. While talking to the media, he said that he will not stop making videos supporting the MLA.

‘Asking me to stop making videos in favour of Rahul Mamkootathil. I will not stop making videos in favour of Rahul,' he said.


Rahul Easwar was arrested in the case yesterday. The case is for insulting womanhood and intimidation. Misuse of electronic systems has also been charged. It is an offense that can lead to imprisonment of up to two years.


The cyber police took action on a complaint filed by the woman, citing disclosure of personal information. He was taken into custody from his residence at 5 pm yesterday and taken to the cyber police station and police training college in Nandavanam AR Camp and questioned for four hours. His arrest was recorded at 9 pm. His mobile phone was seized. The video he posted was found. He was subjected to a medical examination at the General Hospital. A case has also been registered against Congress leader Sandeep Varier, Mahila Congress Pathanamthitta District Secretary Ranjitha Pulikkan, Advocate Deepa Joseph and a vlogger from Palakkad.
