THRISSUR: CPM has once again taken power in the Karuvannur Bank Governing Council elections. All 13 members of the Board of Directors are LDF members. Two members were elected unopposed.

3033 votes were polled in the elections held after ten years. Out of these, CPM won 1733 votes. Since the Congress boycotted the elections, only CPM and BJP were in the fray. The elections were held from 9 am to 3 pm at a school in Madayikonam. The bank, which was ruled by the CPM for many years, has been under the control of an administrative committee since 2020.
