' CM Pinarayi Vijayan real culprit behind custodial torture cases'; Shafi Parambil trains guns on Kerala CM

KOZHIKODE: Congress MP Shafi Parambil called CM Pinarayi Vijayan the real culprit behind the series of custodial torture cases emerging from Kerala. He was speaking while inaugurating a one-day hunger strike organised by Kozhikode DCC President Praveen Kumar in front of the IG office. Shafi also termed it as unscrupulous of the Chief Minister to trivialise serious incidents by labelling them as "isolated incidents”.

"Whenever violence occurs, the Chief Minister has an approach of trivialising it by saying it is an isolated incident. Such violence is encouraged because those at the helm of the administration mentally agree with it. The main problem in Kerala is that the government portrays itself as the patron of violence,' Shafi Parambil clarified.

Shafi Parambil said that police atrocities against Youth Congress and KSU leaders are becoming more common in the state, and raised concern over the government abetting such crimes.
