18-year-old ends life after losing lakhs via online betting app

HYDERABAD: An 18-year-old boy died after losing lakhs via an online betting app. The dead is Vikram of Kandukur in Hyderabad. He lost Rs one lakh via an online betting app. Depressed over this, he consumed insecticide and ended his life. Though his family rushed him to the hospital, he died while undergoing treatment. The police registered a case and started an investigation.

Two others had also ended their lives in a similar way. The deaths were reported in Hyderabad and Madhya Pradesh.

24-year-old Paladugu Sai of Hyderabad and a taxi driver ended his life as he had a debt of Rs 15 lakh. He was addicted to online betting apps for the last two years. He had borrowed a huge amount of money from his friends and banks.

Meantime, a 32-year-old youth of Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh and a civil contractor committed suicide after losing Rs 30 lakh. He lost money after playing an online game Aviator.
