KANNUR: Speaker A N Shamseer who ignited the myth controversy has sanctioned Rs 64 lakh for the renovation of the Ganapathy temple pond in his constituency.

Shamseer himself informed it through a Facebook post that it has been approved by the government. A video of the temple has been added along with the Ganesha hymn 'Shyamambaram Mukha Sagaram, Tulseedalam Athisundaram'.

This ancient temple is located on Karal Street in Thalassery Kodiyeri. Shamseer says that the pond will be beautifully renovated while retaining its old glory. The work will start next month.

The post also included pictures of late CPM leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Minister Roshy Augustine.

It is interesting to note that this action comes at a time when the Sangh Parivar organizations and NSS have turned against Shamseer, alleging that he insulted Lord Ganapathy. Shamseer remarked that Sangha Parivar is propagating that the first plastic surgery was done to Ganapathy and placing myths in the place of science.
