Actor Innocent's photo in Suresh Gopi's flex board ignites controversy

THRISSUR: Yet another controversy has clouded up for NDA candidate of Thrissur Suresh Gopi, who is now in the dock for using the photo of late actor Innocent in a flex board placed in Irinjalakuda. The issue spiralled up after Innocent’s son Sonnet said that the photo was used without seeking the family’s permission.

Sonnet will take further steps regarding the incident after discussing the matter with LDF.

‘Friendship above everything’, was the caption in the controversial flex board that had images of both Innocent and Suresh Gopi. Suresh Gopi is yet to respond to the controversy.

Interestingly, when Innocent was fielded as an LDF candidate in the 2014 elections, it was Suresh Gopi who reached out first to campaign for his friend. It was in 2023 that Innocent passed away while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kochi.

At the same time, Suresh Gopi alleged conspiracy behind the ‘unusual’ police action that ruined the Thrissur pooram of 2024.
