KOCHI: Investigating officer Baiju K. Paulose has informed the DGP about an anonymous letter that reportedly revealed the verdict in advance in the actress assault case and made allegations against the judge and others. The information was shared with the DGP through an email. This development could lead to a further investigation.

The verdict in the case was delivered on December 8 by Ernakulam Principal Sessions Judge Honey M. Varghese. Several people received the anonymous letter on December 6. Investigations revealed that three days earlier, a masked person had posted 33 letters via speed post from the Pallimukku post office in Ernakulam. The person has not yet been identified.

A confidential inquiry began after High Court Advocates’ Association president Yashwant Shenoy handed over the letter he received to the Chief Justice of the High Court.

The anonymous letter claimed that only accused numbers one to six would be found guilty and that four accused, including actor Dileep, would be acquitted. It also alleged that after preparing the verdict, the judge showed it to a close friend of Dileep. These are the details that Baiju K. Paulose brought to the attention of the DGP.
