KOCHI: Actress Rini Ann George has said that the ongoing cyber attack against her is clear proof that her words have unsettled those guilty of wrongdoing. She was speaking to the media after submitting a complaint to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan against Rahul Easwar and others.

Rini noted that many victims hesitate to speak out due to fear of cyberbullying and online harassment. She said that she filed the complaint not just for herself but on behalf of all those facing such abuse.

“A severe cyber attack is being carried out against me. At the insistence of my friends and family, I lodged complaints with the Chief Minister and the cyber police. I have included the details of the social media accounts involved in the cyber attack in the complaint. The government must act urgently. Those posting abusive comments and videos should be brought before the law, and those orchestrating these attacks from behind the scenes must also be exposed,” she said.

The actress added that even videos of people from the film industry were being misused for such attacks, and that the harassment has also extended to her friends.
