NEW DELHI: New Zealand all-rounder and Gujarat Titans player Glenn Phillips has been ruled out of the IPL. The reason is a groin injury. Gujarat Titans officials have announced that the injured player has returned to New Zealand.
Glenn Phillips was injured in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 6. The incident occurred while fielding as a substitute. The injured player left the field immediately after bowling. The player returned without playing a single match.
Earlier, South African player Kagiso Rabada had also returned to his homeland due to personal reasons. Rabada is also a Gujarat Titans player. With Phillips' return, the team is facing a major setback. Gujarat Titans are currently at the top of the table with eight points, including four wins and one loss from five matches.
