Athachamayam procession begins in Tripunithura; traffic restrictions in city

TRIPUNITHURA: The boisterous Tripunithura Athachamayam parade of 2025 is here, heralding the arrival of Onam. Minister P Rajeev hoisted the Atthachamayam flag in the presence of a large crowd. Minister MB Rajesh inaugurated the ceremonies. Actor Jayaram flagged off the procession. The procession, which started from the Tripunithura Boys' Ground, will cover the city and end at the same ground. Film actor Ramesh Pisharody is also participating in the celebrations.

The city is now witnessing vibrant colours, panchavadyam, Onam traditions and parading tuskers in the fete. Thousands have already filled the roads to participate in the event. Traffic restrictions have been imposed in Tripunithura from 8 am to 3 pm in view of the procession. 450 police personnel have been deployed for security arrangements.
