ALAPPUZHA: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam will hold talks today amidst the political storm broken out within the LDF over the PM Shri (Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India). The two will meet in Alappuzha at 3.30 pm today. The chief minister had called Binoy Viswam on phone and had informed his difficulty in backing out from the project. It is heard that the chief minister has informed the CPI that as the agreement has been signed, has to move forward with the project and also that the fund is important.

The chief minster requested the CPI not to take a tough stand. Meantime, it is hinted that Binoy Viswam had expressed his displeasure to the chief minister. Binoy Viswam told media that an ideologically and politically correct decision will be taken at the CPI state executive. A decision on whether the ministers would be withdrawn from the cabinet will be known today. The CPI feels that the agreement was signed without a discussion in the cabinet.

The education minister had yesterday said that PM Shri project will be implemented and that the state will decide on the curriculum. This is not a matter of satisfaction or dissatisfaction between the two parties. This is politics against the national education policy. The CPI is firm in its stand that the MoU should be withdrawn. Let the CPM clarify its stand. National general secretary D Raja responded that only some CPM leaders have taken the stand of moving forward with the project.
