President Droupadi Murmu reaches Sivagiri; to inaugurate centenary celebrations of Sree Narayana Guru’s Mahasamadhi

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Sivagiri to inaugurate the year-long global celebrations marking the centenary of Sree Narayana Guru’s Mahasamadhi. The President left for Sivagiri at 10 am Thursday morning. The President landed at Papanasam Helipad Ground and reached Sivagiri by road.

Droupadi Murmu, who arrived in Sivagiri, had darshan at the Mahasamadhi. She will later inaugurate the Sree Narayana Guru Mahaparinirvana Centenary Conference at the Pilgrimage Auditorium. The President is inaugurating the global programmes that will last till 2028.

Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Sree Narayana Dharmasangham Trust President Swami Sachidananda, General Secretary Swami Shubhangananda, Treasurer Swami Saradananda, Minister V N Vasavan, Minister V Sivankutty, former Union Minister of State Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Adoor Prakash MP, V Joy MLA and others will attend. The President will spend time at the Sivagiri Mutt from 1.30 to 2.40. The President will return at 2.50 pm after having lunch with sanyasis of the mutt.
