PALAKKAD: A complaint has been filed against the BJP for offering money to withdraw the nomination papers. Ramesh, the congress candidate of 50th division of Palakkad municipality, stepped forward with the complaint. The present BJP councilor Jayalakshmi and her team reached Ramesh’s house and offered money to withdraw from the fray.

While talking to the media, Ramesh said Sunil, a former councilor, had come to meet me. ‘I was not at home when he came home. I was in the DCC office. Later Jayalakshmi

and Ganesh came home. They spoke to my father and wife. They offered financial help if withdrawn from the fray. They said CPM candidate had also withdrawn,’ alleged Ramesh.

Congress demanded the election commission to take strong action against this. However, the BJP has denied the allegations of the congress.
