THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition Leader V D Satheesan has alleged that there is a deal between the CPM and the BJP in the upcoming Assembly elections. He made the allegation during an interview with a television channel. Satheesan expressed confidence that the BJP will not be able to open its account in Kerala and said that the party will not win even in Nemom. He further alleged that the CPM has an understanding to help the BJP win in Palakkad. In return, he claimed that the BJP would support the CPM in 10 constituencies.
He also stated that if the UDF comes to power, it will implement five guarantees within three months. "The new government would make KSRTC self-sufficient. There is no competition within the Congress for the Chief Minister’s post. I had earlier wished to become a minister in the cabinet of Oommen Chandy, but missed the opportunity at the last moment," Satheesan said.
He also stated that, unlike the CPM, there will be no internal conflicts within the Congress, and the only goal is to win the election. "There is an understanding with K C Venugopal and Ramesh Chennithala. The leader will be selected according to the procedures of the AICC, and there will be no competition for the Chief Minister’s post," he added.
