KOCHI: The Kerala High Court has postponed considering the bail plea of businessman Boby Chemmanur, remanded in the case for sexually assaulting actress Honey Rose, to Tuesday. Boby filed the bail plea, stating that the police have not even filed a custody application and that there is no need to keep him in remand in this situation.
The high court postponed considering the bail plea to next week, asking what are the circumstances that require urgent consideration of the plea. His plea was postponed by the bench led by Justice P V Kunhikrishnan. The court asked is this how one should speak, one should be careful while speaking in public. Everyone has dignity. The court also pointed that the government should be given time to respond. Boby Chemmanur's lawyer assured that he will not repeat the remarks again, but the court did not comply with it.
Boby in his bail plea requested that he is innocent and that the plea should be considered urgently. The charges alleged against him are not valid. The magistrate court did not properly examine the documents he presented. The arrest is not legal. The complainant has inaugurated three of his shops. He has a long-standing relationship with her. The complainant is hounding him through media. He was abused through social media before filing the complaint. He also mentioned in the plea that he had fully cooperated with the investigation. He moved the high court after the Ernakulam Judicial First Class Magistrate Court refused him bail.
