KOCHI: The postmortem report of Chitrapriya, the degree student who was murdered by her boyfriend in Malayattoor, has been released. The report states that she died due to a severe head injury. It also notes internal bleeding and multiple injury marks on her head caused by blows. There were also signs of force on her body. Police are expected to formally record the arrest of her boyfriend, Alan, who is currently in custody.

Police had earlier confirmed that Chitrapriya’s death was a case of murder. According to the officials, Alan, who was reportedly drunk, struck her on the head with a stone in a fit of suspicion, killing her. Chitrapriya had been missing since Saturday evening. CCTV footage recovered by the police showed her travelling on Alan’s bike. The footage, captured at 1:53 a.m. on Sunday, shows her seated behind him, while two others follow on another motorcycle.

After receiving the missing complaint, police examined the CCTV footage and summoned Alan for questioning. He initially claimed that he had dropped her off nearby on his bike. He was released after questioning. However, once Chitrapriya’s body was found, Alan was called in again. This time, he failed to give clear answers. After further questioning, he confessed to the murder.
