
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mayor V V Rajesh said the e-buses given to KSRTC by the Thiruvananthapuram corporation should operate services only in the city. He alleged that the e-buses will be brought back soon and that they are being used in other places due to political pressure.
The mayor told media that the e-buses given outside the city should be brought back immediately and that the corporation should get its profit share properly. This move from the side of V V Rajesh is after taking charge as mayor.
One or two individuals do not have the authority to change the contract. The buses were given to Thiruvananthapuram Corporation by the center. He said what the corporation got should be beneficial for those in the corporation and that the contract documents with KSRTC will be examined. However, Transport Minister K B Ganesh Kumar has not yet reacted publicly on it. The office of the transport minister said Ganesh Kumar will meet the media tomorrow.
After the BJP administration assumed charge in Thiruvananthapuram, there was a dispute between councilor R Sreelekha and MLA V K Prasanth over the office building. Sreelekha demanded Prashanth MLA to vacate his office functioning in the corporation building in Sasthamangalam. V V Rajesh took a softening stand on it. It was found that there were major irregularities in renting out the corporation's buildings to private individuals. The Thiruvananthapuram Corporation has decided to conduct a comprehensive investigation in this regard.
