
KOCHI: An investigation is progressing to find the car that ran over a student in Elamakara two days ago. The accident happened near Bhavans School. Deekshita (16), a plus one student of the school, met with the accident. The girl suffered bleeding in the liver and is being treated at the hospital. The accident happened on Thursday evening when she was returning home near Puthukkalavattom temple on her bicycle from school. A speeding car in front of the Urban Co-operative Bank near the school knocked her down and then went through Punnakkal Junction without stopping.
It was a black car. The car number is not clear in the CCTV footage collected by the police. The one on the driver’s seat was not even ready to take her to the hospital. The people who saw the accident took her to the hospital. The case was registered after her parents and school authorities approached the police.
The police and the MVD are being blamed for not being able to find the car even after three days of the accident. The locals are asking what is the reason for not finding the car and the driver from a city like Kochi. Meantime, the police have directed the owners of some suspicious vehicles to appear at the station.
