THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor and BJP leader Krishnakumar and his daughter Diya Krishna responded to the controversy surrounding a complaint filed by their former employee. Both of them are displeased with the police action and said that the officials were eager to charge the case against them despite receiving crucial video evidence in the case.

Actor Krishnakumar said that he has been in touch with the Chief Minister's office. The section charged by the Museum Police against Krishnakumar and Diya is kidnapping, threatening and extorting money.

Diya Krishna:

“The day after we found the fraud with video evidence, we couldn’t sleep. The staff and her husband bombarded us with phone calls for a whole day and pleaded with us to not proceed with the police case. They even promised to arrive with maximum money the next day. They came to settle the matter in the morning. I didn't think it was wise to discuss the matter with them in front of the apartment so I took them to my father’s office.

That’s how we all got into the car and left for the office. We also have CCTV visuals of both of them arriving at the apartment. They gave me Rs 9 lakh to avoid filing a case. They said they would arrange the rest of the money immediately. The next day, things changed as they adopted a threatening tone. This led to my father filing a complaint. They embezzled Rs 69 lakh from our firm.

Krishnakumar:

"We provided video evidence of the QR code being used to withdraw money. This staff have not been able to provide a single piece of evidence against Diya. The police are taking a bad precedent. It is the first time I’ve experienced police behaving so unprofessionally. Despite providing all the evidence, the police didn’t think twice before filing a case against us. We have contacted the Chief Minister's office”
