Cauliflower theft: Catholic Bishop to come to ease the sorrow of children

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: "Children, don't be sad. We will do everything we can to expand your farm." This was said by Baselios Marthoma Mathews III, Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church President, to the distressed children of Thycaud Government Model LP School. A few days ago, the cauliflowers and cabbages planted and nurtured by the young students in the school got stolen.

The Catholic Bishop's statement to ease the sorrow of the children came after he saw the news about the theft in Kerala Kaumudi.

"I came to see the news that the vegetables that the children had planted and watered were stolen. Don't be sad about the losses. Your teachers are with you. From today on, this Thirumeni Appachan will also support you. Farming should be resumed more beautifully than before. When I come to Thiruvananthapuram, I will definitely visit the farm," said the Bishop.

The Catholic Bishop also announced that an amount will be transferred today to ease the sorrow of the children.

Minister Sivankutty consoles children

Education Minister V. Sivankutty consoled the children who wrote to him in distress over the cauliflower theft incident.

"The children's complaint has been noticed. The police are investigating. The education authorities have also been instructed to investigate. My dear children, don't worry. I am with you." - minister wrote on Facebook.
