THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar demanded that the Chief Minister be ready to provide the benefit of the central government's reduction of special excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 10 to the people of Kerala. Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that the BJP and the people are demanding that the state also reduce taxes just as the central government did on the excise duty on petrol and diesel.
The BJP state chief said that the CPM candidate from Nemom constituency, Minister V Sivankutty, is playing shrewd politics by fielding a CPM branch secretary named 'Rajeev' as a namesake candidate in the constituency. Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that it is mysterious that only those within the department of the Employment Minister V. Sivankutty are in the list of officials appointed by the Election Commission to assist the returning officer.
“All the officials of the employment department should be removed from the election duties in Nemom as soon as possible. Any attempt to sabotage the election system will not be allowed.” The BJP state president said that a complaint will be filed with the Central Election Commission demanding this.
“These people say that they did everything possible in the last ten years, yet they rely on cheap politics to win votes. They are not interested in any developmental work but find joy in creating controversies and telling lies.
I believed Congress was the most shameless party, but Sivankutty proved me wrong,” said Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
