Change in rain warning in state; people in four districts asked to be vigilant, yellow alert

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is a change in rain warning in the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that there is a possibility of rain for the next five days. There is also a change in the yellow alert. Yellow alert has been issued in four districts today. The yellow alert is in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Ernakulam. The possibility of isolated heavy rain is predicted. Heavy rain is defined as a situation where 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rain is received in 24 hours.

Fishermen cautioned
The IMD has informed that fishing should not be done on the Kerala-Karnataka - Lakshadweep coasts today (04/06/2025). There is a possibility of strong winds and bad weather with a speed of 35 to 45 kmph and at times up to 55 kmph along the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts.

Special warning
04/06/2025: Strong winds speed reaching 35 to 45 kmph, gusting to 55 kmph at times, and very rough weather is likely over southwest Bay of Bengal, adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal, north Tamil Nadu coast, south Andhra Pradesh coast, northern parts of central Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Bay of Bengal.
